Detergent

A common mistake in laundry is using too much detergent. Overdosing not only wastes water due to extra rinsing but can also leave soap residue that may irritate your skin and wear out your clothes. With Clean Cocos, you never have to worry about detergent or how much to use. Detergent is included in your wash and is automatically measured and added at the start of each cycle. Our machines weigh your laundry, assess how dirty it is, and check the water hardness to ensure the perfect amount of detergent and water for excellent results.

At Clean Cocos, we don’t use fabric softener or rinse aid. Instead, we use Miele detergents—one specially for wool, and another for all other wash cycles. Both are fragrance-free and hypoallergenic, so your clothes are clean and gentle on your skin.

Questions about detergent
Can I bring my own detergent or fabric softener?
You can bring your own detergent or fabric softener if you wish, but it is not necessary. At Clean Cocos, detergent is automatically dosed and included in the price for a wash. At our laundries, we use  hypoallergenic soap from Miele, which is fragrance-free. We do not use fabric softener.
How do I add my own detergent or fabric softener?
You can add your own detergent or fabric softener if you wish, but we do not recommend it. Adding more detergent can result in soap residues in the clothes. The soap drawers at Clean Cocos are closed, and thus you must add detergent or fabric softener in the drum of the machine if you want to use additional detergent.

The detergent at Clean Cocos is automatically dosed in the correct amount. With automatic dosing of the right amount of detergent, and with the right amount of clothes in the machine, it should not foam when you start a machine. Overdosing and using too much detergent will fill the machine with foam.
